AFFA has issued another statement regarding UEFA’s decision to strip Turan Tovuz of its right to participate in the UEFA Conference League.

Axar.az reports according to a statement published on the association’s official website, the club’s place in European competition will be reserved until the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issues a final ruling.

“Turan Tovuz has the right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of UEFA’s Appeals Body, dated June 2, 2026, which excluded the club from participation in the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League season.

Until CAS reaches a final decision, Turan Tovuz’s place in European competition will be preserved, as the club earned qualification for the Conference League by finishing third in the domestic championship. Further steps will be determined only after CAS delivers its ruling,” the statement said.

It should be noted that if CAS does not rule in favor of Turan Tovuz, Zira will represent Azerbaijan in the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League instead.
