It was an honor to be invited to COP29, held in beautiful Baku, where world leaders have gathered to address global climate issues.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on his personal Instagram account.

In his post, he mentioned that at the event, he discussed the future of the planet and football with President Ilham Aliyev, many heads of state, and government representatives:

"As an international organization, FIFA takes environmental and climate protection seriously. Everyone participating in this event shares a common objective, which I was further pleased to conclude: our children and their colloective future. FIFA will continue to play its role in addressing the critical global issue of climate change. I thank President Ilham Aliyev, the AFFA, and everyone in Azerbaijan," the head of the global football body emphasized.
