About 20 contract servicemen of the Armenian army were beaten in Tavush for joining the protests against the handover of Gazakh's villages.
Axar.az reports that the incident took place on April 26.
According to information, about 20 contract servicemen joined the protestors by refusing their duties. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia announced that those persons will be brought to justice, and later, the country's Investigative Committee released information that a criminal case had been initiated in connection with the refusal of a group of servicemen to perform their duties.
It is reported that violence and threats were committed against the detained servicemen. There were even reports that those persons were severely beaten.
Armenian colonel Mihran Magsudyan, who led the protestors, said at that time that the military wanted to join the protestors, but advised them to interfere in the matter.
