On May 6, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with the delegation led by Professor Talat Janbolat and Lieutenant General Yashar Kadioglu.

It was noted that the Turkish guests visited the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrdom, and laid wreaths and flowers and showed deep respect for their memories.

Colonel-General K. Valiyev, who welcomed the guests at the meeting held at the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, said he was pleased to see them in Azerbaijan. The Chief of General Staff noted that bilateral military cooperation with Turkiye is based on friendship and brotherly relations. The importance of further expansion of cooperation in the field of military education between our countries was especially emphasized.

Expressing gratitude for the sincere hospitality, the Turkish delegation noted the high level of cooperation aimed at expanding experience in the field of military education.

Then the guests met with the advisor of the Minister of Defense Colonel-General Bakhtiyar Ersay and the First Deputy Commander of the Air Force - Chief of Staff Colonel Mazahir Rustamov.

The reforms carried out in the Azerbaijan Army were discussed at the meetings, and the importance of further development of cooperation in the field of military education and the exchange of mutual experience was emphasized.
