US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has accused French President Emmanuel Macron of disrupting ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas.

Axar.az reports thatRubio said this in an interview with the EWTN television channel.

According to Rubio, the negotiations were cut off on the same day the French president made a unilateral decision to recognize the State of Palestine:

“If I were in Hamas’s position, I’d decide: ‘Let’s not have a ceasefire. Because we might be rewarded, and we can consider this a victory.’ After Macron’s statement, other countries also declared that if a ceasefire is not reached by September, they will recognize the State of Palestine.”
