India is developing so rapidly that no world power can prevent it from becoming a superpower.

Axar.az reports that Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said this during a speech in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

"Some people cannot accept India’s progress. They do not view it very positively. Efforts are being made to make goods produced in India more expensive when exported to other countries," Singh said, commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to increase tariffs on Indian goods.

The defence minister recalled that India’s defence exports have exceeded 240 billion Indian rupees (over 2.7 billion USD) per year.

"This is a record in itself. This is India’s strength, this is the new defence sector of a new India, and exports are constantly increasing," Singh stressed.
