Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Overchuk will visit Yerevan next week to discuss Armenia’s activities within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, “This trip was planned in advance,” Overchuk told reporters. “It is related to the fact that Armenia has recently introduced a government decree that, in our view, contradicts EAEU law.”
He said the matter will be addressed during the visit. “Since then, there was a meeting in Washington and the signing of a declaration. Therefore, it is also expected that there may be a meeting with \[Armenian Prime Minister] Nikol Pashinyan, where we will discuss certain nuances, primarily related to the unblocking of transport links in the South Caucasus,” Overchuk added.
The deputy prime minister noted that Russia is particularly interested in issues affecting its role in the South Caucasus, including the development of railway connections.
