A fire and explosion broke out at the “Elastik” gunpowder factory in the Shilovsky district of Russia’s Ryazan region.

Axar.az informs Russian media report that five people have died and 74 others were injured, with some still believed to be trapped under the debris.

Nearly 100 workers have been evacuated.

The explosion is thought to have been caused by safety violations in the gunpowder production workshop.
