Russian mountaineer Natalya Nagovitsina has died on Kyrgyzstan’s Victory Peak.

Axar.az informs while descending from the summit, the athlete broke her leg and remained stranded at an altitude of over 7,000 meters for more than a week without help.

The 47-year-old mountaineer, left without food and water, only had a stove, a sleeping bag, and a torn tent with her.

Rescuers had to wait for the weather to improve before a helicopter could reach the altitude and recover her body.

It should be noted that Natalya Nagovitsina died at the same altitude where her husband had also passed away. In 2021, he suffered a stroke while climbing the same peak.
