More than 200 passengers on the Aktau–Shymkent flight were urgently evacuated after a young mother reported a bomb on board.

Axar.az reports the panic was caused by a 27-year-old passenger traveling with her baby.

The crew and all passengers were safely evacuated, and specialists searched the plane for over five hours. Security services were on site, but no explosives were found.

Witnesses believe the woman may have been experiencing emotional distress, which prompted her report.

The passenger has been detained by police.

The Transport Police Department said a criminal case has been opened under the charge of “knowingly false report of a terrorist act.”
