An experiment on the introduction of 12-year education in schools in Ukraine will begin on September 1 this year.

Axar.az reports that the head of the Verkhovna Rada's Education Committee, Sergey Babak, published information about this on his Telegram channel.

It was noted that this is being done in order for Ukraine to get closer to Western countries and not to become like Russia and Belarus.

As part of the experiment, new programs will be tested in Ukrainian schools, which, according to him, involves two areas of education, namely academic and professional education.

Justifying the need to switch to a 12-year system, Babak particularly noted Ukraine's desire to get closer to Western countries.
