On September 1, 2025, the OSCE Ministerial Council adopted a decision on the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures.

Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani side was the first to demand its cancellation.

4 years later, Armenia also agreed to the cancellation of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Recall that on December 12, after the Patriotic War, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Stephane Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), and the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Bocharnikov, were received by the President of Azerbaijan.

This meeting remained on the agenda for a long time, with the President's speech.

Ilham Aliyev asked the co-chairs why they had come. The President stated that he had not invited the co-chairs. The President also emphasized during the meeting that the OSCE Minsk Group had not taken any practical steps in 28 years.

It is noted that for years, the co-chairs of the Minsk Group and the leaders of their countries have stated that there is no military solution to the liberation of our lands from occupation.

"But we have solved this problem militarily. So, there is a solution," the head of state noted.
