Luxembourg to recognize Palestine at UN General Assembly

Luxembourg intends to recognize Palestine as a state later this month at the UN General Assembly in New York, local media reported Monday.

Axar.az informs Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel made the announcement before a parliamentary commission, according to the reports.

Last Friday, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution endorsing the “New York Declaration,” which seeks to recognize a Palestinian state and advance a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
