First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, met with a delegation led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, General Daniel Zmekon, who is on an official visit to our country.

It was reported that first, the guests came to the Alley of Honor and visited the graves of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers, showing deep respect for their memories.
Then, the delegation visited the Victory Park and laid a wreath in front of the Victory Monument.
At the official welcoming ceremony organized at the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, the Chiefs of the General Staff passed in front of the guard of honor. The national anthems of the Republics of Azerbaijan and Slovakia were played. The Slovak guest signed the “Book of Honor” in accordance with the protocol.
Welcoming the guests at the meeting between the Chiefs of General Staff of the two countries, Colonel General Karim Valiyev expressed his satisfaction with seeing them in our country. He emphasized that there are ample opportunities for further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in the military, military-technical, and military education sectors.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, General Zmeko noted that such visits are important in terms of expanding military relations between the two countries and the development of our armies.
The meeting also included a detailed exchange of views on a number of issues of interest in the field of defense between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
Then the delegation visited the Cybersecurity Center. Here, they were provided with detailed information on the measures taken to ensure the cybersecurity of modern weapon systems and information technology tools in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Army, as well as on artificial intelligence-based cyber defense tools against cyber threats.
During their official visit to our country, the guests who were at the Air Force (AF) Battle Control Center got acquainted with the conditions created there. They were given a briefing on the structure, working principles, and direction of the center.
The Slovak military delegation also visited one of the military units of the Air Force. The guests were given detailed information about the military unit and were shown examples of aviation and technical equipment in service.
