16 clubs to make UEFA main-stage debuts

Sixteen clubs will compete in the main stage of UEFA’s European club competitions for the first time in their history during the 2026/27 season.

Axar.az reports that, according to UEFA, the figure was 14 in the 2024/25 season, when the new format was introduced, and 12 last season.

Only two clubs will make their first-ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League main stage: Azerbaijani champions Sabah and Italian club Como.

In the Europa League, Ararat-Armenia (Armenia), Bournemouth (England), Lillestrom (Norway), OFI (Greece), Sunderland (England) and Torreense (Portugal) will make their main-stage debuts.

In the Conference League, the first-time participants will be Aarhus (Denmark), Egnatia (Albania), Iberia (Georgia), Inter Escaldes (Andorra), Kauno Zalgiris (Lithuania), Mjallby (Sweden), Riga (Latvia) and Sint-Truiden (Belgium).
