Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan did not rule out a visit to Baku following his September 1 meeting in Bishkek with Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Simonyan told journalists that the main topic of his meeting with Hajiyev was discussing ways to deepen the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“I can gladly state that the Azerbaijani side is taking and will continue to take all steps aimed at establishing peace,” he said.

According to Simonyan, the sides agreed to introduce new mechanisms to resolve outstanding issues.

Asked about a possible visit to Baku, the Armenian Security Council secretary said: “I do not rule out such a visit, but I cannot name a specific date.”

Simonyan also said that a similar meeting had been planned earlier, when Armen Grigoryan was serving as Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council.
