Thales unveils mini-rocket to counter Shahid drones

Not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe, effective means of defense against the Russian-Iranian “Shahids” are being actively sought. The Thales consortium announced that it has managed to create a cheap mini-missile designed to combat such threats and is already delivering it to Ukraine.

Axar.az reports citing foreign media.

The European manufacturer claims that a new warhead called the FZ123 has been developed for their compact 70-mm rocket, which, when exploded, scatters thousands of small fragments.

The manufacturer states that the impact zone during the explosion reaches a diameter of about 25 meters, which is enough to destroy the drone. Theoretically, these fragments can hit the drone at a greater distance, since the rocket works on the principle of a shotgun. The maximum range of the rocket with such a warhead reaches about 3 km.
