Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping have failed to reach an agreement on the price of the Power of Siberia 2 gas.
Axar.az informs that Reuters reported this.
According to the report, the Russian-Chinese negotiations on the construction of the new pipeline failed to reach an agreement on the main parameters of the project, in particular, the price for the expected supply of 50 billion cubic meters per year:
“The investment terms and the start date for gas distribution also remain uncertain. Even if the final deal is concluded in 2026, the construction of the pipeline will take at least five years, and it will take another five years for it to reach its design capacity. Currently, Gazprom transports 38 billion cubic meters of gas to China annually through the Power of Siberia-1 pipeline.”
