Georgia again refuses EU budget grants for 2026

The Georgian authorities have decided to once again refuse EU grants when planning the 2026 budget.

Axar.az reports that the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Giorgi Kakauridze, told journalists while presenting the 2026 budget draft in parliament.

"You will not see budget support grants in 2026 either. We are not working on this. From today, we are not working with various EU agencies to obtain grants, because our declared policy is that we will not continue budget support grants," Kakauridze said.

The First Deputy Minister of Finance noted that despite the refusal of EU grants, Georgia will borrow, which will be spent on infrastructure projects.
