Israel demands Hezbollah disarmament in Lebanon

Israel has demanded that Lebanon disarm Hezbollah members who have taken refuge in private homes in the south of the country.

Axar.az reports that the Israeli side said that the pace of disarmament of Hezbollah supporters is unsatisfactory.

The Lebanese army rejected this Israeli demand. Beirut stated that conducting mass searches in every house could disrupt the disarmament process, lead to instability, and civil unrest:

"They demand that we search every house. We will not do this. We will not work as they want."

The agency writes that the Lebanese military leadership believes that the current strategy is optimal and the authorities aim to complete Hezbollah's disarmament by the end of the year, in accordance with the initial plan.
