Lukoil’s Finnish gas stations to shut over US sanctions

Teboil is preparing to shut down its operations in Finland, with stations closing gradually as fuel stocks run out.

Axar.az informs, citing Yle News, the company said that if a station's price display reads €3.888, it means that fuel grade is already sold out. Teboil operates around 400 stations across Finland.

Cash sales ended at all Teboil stations in October. The company's difficulties date back to American sanctions imposed on its owner, Russian oil giant Lukoil.

Lukoil has been unable to find a buyer for its international holdings since multinational Gunvor withdrew its purchase offer in early November.

The Finnish fuel station network SEO has been trying to lure Teboil franchise operators into joining its ranks.
