On November 19, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker.
Axar.az informs the meeting addressed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–U.S. bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process, and broader regional and global security concerns.
Recalling the agreements reached during the historic August 8 Washington meeting, the officials emphasized the importance of joint efforts to advance the strategic partnership between the two countries. Strengthening cooperation on regional stability, energy security, and the expansion of transport corridors was highlighted. In this regard, Azerbaijan expressed its interest in the accelerated implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), aimed at ensuring seamless connectivity between Azerbaijan proper and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The meeting also reviewed the activities of the Strategic Working Group tasked with preparing a Strategic Partnership Charter to reinforce collaboration in areas of mutual interest, and underscored the importance of establishing an institutional framework for practical bilateral cooperation.
The parties also discussed the agenda for peace and stability in the South Caucasus region and outlined future areas of activity within bilateral and multilateral platforms.
Jeyhun Bayramov briefed Allison Hooker on the steps taken as part of the normalization process, as well as the restoration and reconstruction efforts in the post-conflict period.
The meeting also addressed developments in the Middle East and other regional issues of mutual interest.
