France has strengthened security along its border with Spain amid the migration crisis in the city of Ceuta.

Axar.az reports that French President Emmanuel Macron announced this on his X account.

"Ceuta does not benefit from free movement to the rest of the Schengen area. However, as early as yesterday, I asked the Interior Minister to strengthen controls on our border with Spain if necessary: four mobile security units, aircraft, and drones have been deployed," he stated.

"These measures reinforce the steps we have taken since 2020 to better protect our border with Spain through close coordination, joint brigades, and joint efforts to combat illegal immigration," he added.

It should be noted that nearly 50,000 Moroccan migrants entered the Spanish city of Ceuta yesterday.
