The Prosecutor General of the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania, Alex Floranta, has been invited to visit Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that this proposal was made during the meeting of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, with the Prosecutor General of the High Court of Cassation and Justice of this country, Alex Floranta, on November 24, within the framework of his official visit to Romania.
It was reported that during the meeting, the development of friendly and strategic cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, cooperation between prosecutorial bodies, and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
K. Aliyev said that the relations between Romania and Azerbaijan in the European space are based on deep historical, cultural, and friendly traditions, and that the relations between the two countries are mutually beneficial and fruitful.
The Prosecutor General spoke about the large-scale reforms carried out in the prosecutorial bodies within the framework of the legal reforms implemented in the country under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized the important role of international cooperation in the fight against crime.
Recalling Alex Florentza's working visit to Baku in October 2024, he highly appreciated the Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of Cooperation signed during the visit in the direction of strengthening legal cooperation.
K. Aliyev called his visit to Romania a new stage of cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries and invited the other party to an official visit to Azerbaijan.
A. Florentza also expressed his great importance in his speech for the development of relations with Azerbaijan. He spoke about the relations between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries, sharing experience, and cooperation within the relevant bodies of the Council of Europe and the UN.
Later, the guests were provided with detailed information on the activities of the Romanian prosecutor's offices. At the meeting, the parties had a useful exchange of views on cooperation in the legal field.
The meeting was also attended by the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania, Qudsi Osmanov.
