Russia to close the Polish consulate in Irkutsk

Moscow has decided to close the Polish Consulate General in Irkutsk starting December 30, 2025, as a retaliatory measure.

Axar.az informs this was reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On November 27, the Polish Ambassador to Russia, Krzysztof Krajewski, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and handed a note stating that, in response to Poland’s decision to withdraw its consent for the operation of the Russian Consulate General in Gdańsk from December 23, 2025, Russia would likewise withdraw its consent for the Polish Consulate General in Irkutsk from December 30, 2025.
