Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has visited Moscow for talks without a European mandate or approval from EU leaders.
Axar.az reports that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said this at a joint press conference with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob in Berlin.
“Orban’s position has been known to us for a long time. This is not his first visit to Moscow,” he said.
Merz noted that Orban has already visited Moscow during his presidency of the European Council in 2024:
“He is going there without a European mandate or our approval. But there is nothing new here, he has his own ideas about ending this war. These ideas have not yet been realized.”
