Erdogan and Macron discuss Ukraine war

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron at the request of the other side.

Axar.az informs according to the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Turkiye and France, the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as regional and global issues.

During the meeting, President Erdogan emphasized the importance of advancing cooperation between Turkiye and France and said that steps would continue to be taken toward this goal.

He also stated that Turkiye is making every effort to bring the war between Ukraine and Russia to an end through a fair and lasting peace. Erdogan noted that contacts with the parties are ongoing to revive the Istanbul process and that Turkiye is ready to do everything possible to open the door to peace as soon as possible.

The meeting also covered the latest developments in the Caucasus, Gaza, and Syria.
