Turkiye establishes Air Force Command in Somalia

Turkiye is establishing a Special Air Forces Command in Somalia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Turkish National Defense Minister Yashar Guler.

According to him, the new command will have attack helicopters, fighter jets and military transport aircraft at its disposal:

"Its mission is to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Somali National Army (SNA)."

Guler noted that this step is a strategic part of the long-term security cooperation between Ankara and Mogadishu, especially in the field of personnel training and counter-terrorism operations.
