Grain shipments resume from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan

For the first time since the 1990s, grain wagons have been sent from the Gmelinskaya station in Russia’s Volgograd region to Armenia via Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the information was released by the press service of the Privolzhskaya Railway.

According to the statement, the first shipment, consisting of eight grain wagons, will be delivered to Yerevan station.

It was noted that by the end of this year, 30 grain wagons carrying more than 2,000 tons of grain are planned to be shipped along this route. The Privolzhskaya Railway added that the new logistics service became possible following the resumption of cargo transit to Armenia through Azerbaijan.
