A fire has broken out at an oil refinery in Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda city.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that according to the Kyzylorda Region Department of Emergency Situations, the fire involved two storage tanks, each with a capacity of 60 tons. When firefighters arrived at the scene, there was a risk that the flames could spread to three nearby tanks.

Firefighters quickly intervened and prevented the fire from spreading, protecting the three tanks from the flames. A firefighting train was also deployed to help extinguish the blaze.

The fire covered an area of 200 square meters and was completely extinguished. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
