Israel aims for military independence from US aid

Israel plans to gradually withdraw from US military aid and move towards full military independence in the next decade.

Axar.az reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this in an interview with The Economist.

Netanyahu noted that Israel should not depend on foreign military aid, but did not specify a specific date for full independence from the US. He said that the goal is to reduce dependence on US military aid over the next 10 years.

When asked by a journalist whether this meant "reducing dependence to zero, the Israeli Prime Minister answered "yes".
