Iran denies reports of 800 planned executions

Claims that 800 people are to be executed in Iran do not reflect reality.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei at his weekly press conference.

Baghaei sharply criticized parties that are creating a negative atmosphere against Iran at the international level. He said that certain forces are irresponsibly spreading false information to the international community:

“It also raises questions for us as to who is taking this information to the international level and why they are behaving so irresponsibly. A large amount of false information regarding recent events has been circulated and presented to the international community.”

It should be noted that U.S. President Trump had thanked Iran “for postponing the execution of 800 people.”
