Estonia to join Greenland drills despite tariff threats

Despite Donald Trump’s threats to impose a 10% tariff on European countries, Estonia is ready to send at least one liaison officer to military exercises in Greenland.

Axar.az reports, citing ERR, that this was stated by Estonia’s Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur.

“Our position on this issue has not changed. We are ready to take part in these exercises, and in my opinion, linking participation in NATO exercises to economic issues is not reasonable,” he said.

According to the minister, Estonia’s participation is still at the planning stage.

“We may send a liaison officer there and then see how it works in practice. Planning such exercises is not a fast process,” he added.
