Spanish club Barcelona has completely ruled out signing central defender Nico Schlotterbeck from Borussia Dortmund (Germany).

Although the club acknowledges that the German defender possesses many useful qualities, head coach Hans-Dieter Flick reportedly does not consider him fast enough to adapt to his playing system. For this reason, Barcelona will not enter into competition with other clubs for the 26-year-old defender.

It should be noted that Schlotterbeck has made 22 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until the summer of 2027. According to Transfermarkt, the player’s market value is €55 million.
