19:45

Qatar carried out strikes inside Iran over the past 24 hours as Doha accused Tehran of targeting civilian infrastructure and warned it would respond.

Axar.az reports, citing Channel12, that a spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced earlier today that the country had thwarted an attack against Hamad International Airport in the capital, Doha: “Such attacks will not go unanswered.”

He emphasized: “We did not receive any prior warning from Iran regarding the missile attacks.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has denied media reports claiming that the country struck Iran.

"Qatar has not been part of the campaign targeting Iran. We are exercising our right in self defense and deterring Iranian attacks against our country. We urge media outlets to use credible Qataris sources when reporting on Qatar," the ministry wrote on X.
