Rail transport of food products up 51% in March

Nearly 157,000 tons of food industry products were transported by rail in March this year.

Axar.az reports, according to Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), this figure represents a 51% increase compared to the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2026, total rail transportation of similar products reached nearly 325,000 tons, marking a 9% year-on-year increase.

The company also reported strong growth in transit shipments of food industry goods, which rose by 21% in the first quarter (139.7 thousand tons) and by 64% in March alone (67.3 thousand tons).
