Tokayev hosts Turkish VP ahead of Erdogan visit

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz in Astana, with preparations for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s upcoming state visit on May 14 topping the agenda.

Axar.az informs Tokayev stressed that no serious disagreements have emerged between the two countries over the past 35 years, adding that Turkiye remains a key strategic partner for Kazakhstan.

“Our brotherly nations are bound by mutual trust and respect. Over nearly 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our cooperation has steadily developed and reached a new qualitative level. There are no contradictions or disagreements between Kazakhstan and Turkiye,” he said.

Tokayev noted that during Erdogan’s visit, a meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council will be held, where a number of new agreements are expected to be signed.
