Moscow–Baku relations returned to friendly format

The joint statement by the foreign ministries of Russia and Azerbaijan indicates the full normalization of political relations between the two countries.

Axar.az reports, this was stated by Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the Civil Defense magazine and military analyst, in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

He said the reached agreements confirm that all issues previously affecting bilateral relations have been resolved.

The expert noted that the political will of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev played a key role in this process. As a result, all major problematic issues have been settled, while remaining matters may be resolved in the near future.

“We knew that there were many who tried to damage relations between the two countries, who attempted to exploit the situation, and who acted in ways not aligned with the interests of Russia and Azerbaijan. Their efforts failed. Today we are confident that problematic issues are in the past and we are returning to the friendly format that has always existed in relations between our countries,” he said.
