US and Iran advance talks toward possible deal

Donald Trump’s negotiating team—Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and senior adviser Jared Kushner—have continued phone consultations and backchannel communications with Iranian representatives and mediators as part of ongoing efforts to reach a framework agreement.

Axar.az reports, citing Axios, U.S. officials said the discussions involve both direct coordination with mediators and indirect exchanges of draft proposals with the Iranian side.

U.S. officials noted that the negotiators have been “on the phone and backchanneling with all the countries” and are “getting closer” to a framework deal, although a final agreement has not yet been reached.
