France thanked Azerbaijan for evacuating citizens from Iran

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Jean-Noel Barrot, France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Axar.az reports that the discussion centered on the current tense security situation and the escalating military tensions in the Middle East.

The ministers expressed concern that further deterioration could pose a serious threat to regional and international security. They emphasized the critical importance of diplomatic efforts and the resumption of dialogue.

The French Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for facilitating the evacuation of French citizens from Iran amid the heightened tensions, highlighting the value of continued cooperation in this area.

The two sides also reviewed the current state of Azerbaijan-France relations and prospects for future cooperation. They underscored the importance of maintaining bilateral dialogue on matters of mutual interest, building on the recent meeting between the leaders of the two countries in Copenhagen.

Additionally, the ministers addressed other regional security issues of common concern.
