Iraq to hold presidential election on February 1

Presidential elections in Iraq will be held on February 1.

Axar.az reports, citing the INA agency, that the new date was set by the country’s Council of Representatives (parliament).

“It was stated that the agenda of the February 1 session includes the swearing-in ceremony of several MPs and the presidential elections.”

It should be noted that Iraq’s presidential elections were initially scheduled for January 27, but were postponed due to the failure to reach an agreement.
