Vučić: Our staff will withdraw towards Azerbaijan

The Serbian embassy in Tehran was not a direct target of the attack, but the building was damaged by falling shrapnel.

Axar.az reports, citing Serbian Times, that this was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

"The target of the American attack was the Basij base, if I am not mistaken. And that is what it is called. But of course shrapnel damaged our embassy. What is important above all for the people who are in Iran, today our staff will withdraw towards Baku and Azerbaijan, but we had previously made sure that the documentation was destroyed, burned completely, everything that could remain to anyone in accordance with procedures, in accordance with the rules as it already goes," said Vučić.

As he stated, our ambassador will go today to Baku with the other people from our diplomatic mission.

But he will return on personal investment to Tehran because we have a married couple with a surrogate baby there and we want to help that married couple in every way and to see how to do everything because it is a complicated procedure and situation there so we want to see how to help those people," said Vučić.
