Khalilur Rahman elected UNGA 81st President

Bangladesh’s Khalilur Rahman has been elected President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Axar.az reports, citing the UN, Rahman secured 99 votes in the election held by the General Assembly. His opponent, Andreas Kakouris of Cyprus, received 91 votes.

The UN General Assembly elected Rahman to preside over its eighty-first session.
