Tokayev sets tasks amid escalating situation in Middle East

An Operational Headquarters meeting was held at Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport regarding the situation in Middle Eastern countries.

Currently, airspace over Iran, Israel, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, and Lebanon is either closed or remains unstable. In connection with this, 14 flights from these countries to Kazakhstan were canceled on February 28, and 12 flights were canceled on March 1.

Airlines have expressed their readiness to allocate aircraft for return flights once the airspace reopens. Further actions will be developed in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
