Foreign nationals evacuated from Iran via Astara

Through the Astara border-crossing point from Iran, the safe passage of two Turkish citizens and 13 Tajik citizens studying in Iran into Azerbaijan was facilitated.

Axar.az reports that those evacuated expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijan for the assistance provided.

It should be recalled that on February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, carrying out airstrikes on cities within the republic. In response, Iran fired missiles into Israeli territory. Additionally, Iranian forces attacked fourteen U.S. military bases located in countries along the Persian Gulf. Due to the situation in the Middle East, some countries in the region temporarily closed their airspace.
