Ramstein base becomes key hub in Middle East operations

The Wall Street Jounal reports that although European leaders have openly criticized the U.S. attacks on Iran, their bases are still playing a key behind-the-scenes role in a highly complex military operation.

Axar.az informs according to publication, in recent weeks, U.S. bombers, drones and ships have been fueled, armed and launched via bases in the U.K., Germany, Portugal, Italy, France and Greece, officials say.

The WSJ writes that Germany’s Ramstein Air Base, one of the largest U.S. bases in the world, has become a key hub for operations in the Middle East. Officials say it plays a central role in command, communications, and data transmission—especially for drone missions and coordinating long-range strikes. The base also supports a steady air bridge linking the U.S., Europe, and the Gulf, with aircraft such as the C-17 and C-130J transporting troops, weapons, and equipment.
