Russian serial killer confesses to more than 100 killings

Serial killer Alexey Gaskov said in an interview with Vesti correspondent Eduard Petrov that he had committed more than 100 murders since 1995.

Axar.az informs that he admitted he did not keep an exact count of his victims, but believes the number exceeds one hundred. “Since 1995, roughly speaking, I didn’t count or write anything down — but in my view, it’s over 100. I have confessed to everything and cooperated with the investigation,” he said.

Gaskov, born in 1975, was previously suspected of a number of killings in Berdsk in the early 2000s, though those charges were later dropped. In 2007, he was sentenced to 10.5 years in a high-security prison for the rape of an 11-year-old girl, the daughter of his partner, and was released in 2016.

In the early 2000s, he moved to Moscow to study acting but was expelled due to alcohol abuse. Before returning to the Novosibirsk region, he reportedly committed a series of crimes in the Moscow region.

Investigators say he killed four young women in 2002. The case remained unresolved for years until new forensic tests in 2024 linked biological evidence from the crime scenes to Gaskov.
