American journalist kidnapped in Baghdad, Iraq

An American journalist was kidnapped Tuesday in central Baghdad, and security forces are pursuing her captors.

Axar.az reports, citing AP, according to the Iraqi Interior Ministry, two cars were involved in the kidnapping.

One crashed and was apprehended by authorities near Al-Haswa, in Babil province southwest of Baghdad, while the journalist was moved to a second vehicle that fled the scene.

Iraqi interior ministry said that security forces had launched an operation to track down the kidnappers.
