Russian military plane crash leaves 29 dead

A military transport aircraft An-26 crashed while flying over Crimea, killing six crew members and 23 passengers, Russia’s Defense Ministry said.

Axar.az informs that a technical malfunction is being considered the preliminary cause of the accident.

“Search and rescue teams have located the crash site of the An-26 aircraft. Based on reports from the scene, all 6 crew members and 23 passengers on board were killed,” the ministry said in a statement.

A special commission from the Russian Ministry of Defense is currently working at the crash site.
