JD Vance to visit Hungary before pivotal election

U.S. Vice President JD Vance will visit Hungary on April 7–8 for bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Axar.az informs, citing the White House, that Vance will hold talks with Orban and deliver remarks on the “strong partnership between the United States and Hungary.”

The visit comes as Hungary prepares for a pivotal election on April 12, widely seen as the toughest challenge to Orban’s 16-year rule. The opposition Tisza party, led by Peter Magyar, is currently ahead of Orban’s Fidesz party in opinion polls.
